Last of Us II

Season 2

The iconic franchise returns with its second season, premiering shortly after the announcement of the fifth installment of the game, that no one asked.

The show picks up right where it left off, following the heartfelt and somewhat thrilling conclusion of Season 1. Tensions are high, and the lingering guilt is ever present. Unlike the game (it’s okay if you haven’t played it), the series takes an extra step. While many scenes are recreated faithfully, the show fills in numerous gaps that the game left open. Conversations that were merely hinted at are now fully fleshed out scenes, adding more depth to the characters and the story.

Do we need that? I would prefer some things to be left to the imagination, allowing for creative exploration of the narrative the way a viewer would want. But given the exceptional casting and the faithful recreation of the world, it’s forgivable.

Just the Episode 1 being out now, there are lot of expectations and worries as to what will unfold, but this most certainly would be an interesting, now as the show is renewed for season 3, they are are trying to make as much as they can from this IP, but lets see how this season ends and if it’s even necessary. Either way it’s a very intense rush of feelings and you would enjoy it, if slow build up is kinda your thing.
